Part II: Sensors and IoT Communications for Condition-based Monitoring

The first part of this two-part article introduced condition-based monitoring (CbM) sensors and presented a use case involving oil sensors and LTE-M radio for the monitoring of oil quality in engines and pumps, including the use of a cellular gateway to record and transmit this data to the cloud for further analytics.

This second part of the article highlights two additional use cases. The first involves monitoring vibrations and transmitting relevant information with the LoRa wireless communication protocol. The second use case covers the benefits of pressure sensors on hydraulic systems, using Bluetooth connectivity for data transmission.
